Developing Digital Citizens - Resources and Strategies In-Person
(Texas State Library and Archives)
Librarians play a vital role in equipping people to participate in an increasingly complicated information ecosystem that at times seems overrun with things like fake news and misinformation. It can be challenging for young people, in particular, to develop skills they need to deal with misinformation and engage as digital citizens who can consume, create, and share information online. This webinar will introduce librarians to strategies, techniques, and resources they can use to help people develop increasingly vital information and news literacy skills. These skills can ensure that people can not only recognize and combat misinformation but can also develop as informed and empowered digital citizens.
